Its time to talk…..

Time to Talk Day – 4 February 2021

Time to Talk Day 2021 takes place on Thursday 4 February and it is encouraging people to start conversations about mental health and help end the stigma.  A small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.  The more conversations that take place, the more myths that can be busted and more barriers broken down; helping to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many with mental health problems are made to feel.

Time to Talk Day is the day dedicated to getting the nation talking about mental health.  Checking in with your family, friends and colleagues during lockdown is more important than ever so take some time out from your day to have a virtual coffee break with your colleagues or arrange an evening Zoom call with your family and friends.

People worry that talking about mental health will be difficult but starting a conversation doesn’t have to be awkward, and being there for someone can make a huge difference.  You don’t need to fix things or offer advice just be ready to listen.

If it helps to get the mental health conversation going use the quiz to find out how much you know.
