Role overview
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, delivering excellent client service, and ensuring payroll processes are completed accurately and on time.
You will play a key role in supporting the payroll function, providing efficient payroll administration services to a portfolio of clients while assisting with administration duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing and checking client payrolls accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Preparing and securely delivering payroll reports, invoices, payments, and payslips
- Administering workplace pensions and completing pension reporting requirements
- Processing payments and managing payroll-related transactions
- Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly statutory returns on behalf of clients, including arranging associated payments
- Setting up new payroll clients on the payroll system and maintaining accurate electronic and manual records
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with payroll clients, delivering a high standard of customer service at all times
- Supporting the overall administration and smooth running of payroll operations
- Assisting with ad hoc duties as required
Experience and Skills
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous payroll, finance, or payment processing experience
- Strong numerical and financial calculation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving abilities and a client-focused approach
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and use initiative
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Good IT skills, including confidence using payroll and Microsoft Office systems
